First of all avoid drinking water just after or before meals. This is simply because when we take food, our body temperature increases. A digestive fire ignites in our system to enhance the process of digestion. However, when we drink water the body temperature goes down because of which the digestion process slows down. Promise yourself that you will not drink water at least half an hour before the meal and an hour after the meal. I know it's not easy but try. It will be very beneficial as almost all bodily diseases creep us from indigestion. I share the simple trick with you. I have applied to myself and trust me, it has worked really well. Just rinse your mouth with water after meals. This will give you certain amount of mental satisfaction. Try this and it will really work. Within 7-10 days, your body will adapt to this change and you will not longer crave for water before or after meals.
Secondly thing is drink water SIP by SIP. Drinking water in one go is harmfull. In our stomach gastric juices are produced for digestion. They have a pH level of 1.5 - 3.5 . On the other hand, our saliva has a pH of about 6.5 - 7.5 . So it's basic, Gastric juices are acidic while saliva is basic. When we drink water SIP by SIP, water should touch the tongue and other parts of the mouth. Do not gulp it. This way, saliva with water also goes down to the stomach. This helps in neutralisation ofbthe stomach. It is an ideal condition. Gulping water can cause Hernia, Appendicitis and the long run Prostate cancer.
Thirdly, let water be the first thing in the morning. You may heard that drinking water in the morning increases metabolism. This is mainly because of two reasons. Firstly, when you drink water just after getting up, it clears the large intestine so you don't feel constipated. Secondly, saliva formed all throughout the night goes along with the water that you drink in the morning. It has been proven scientifically that the saliva in the morning is most powerful. It can in itself cure many diseases. So, drink water before you brish or rinse your mouth. It may sound weird but this will make you healthier. If you have problem with this, brush your teeth in the night before sleeping.
Fourth is, Avoid chilled water. I know we all loved chilled water. It quenches our thirst. But unfortunately, chilled water is not good for our body. Chilled water decreases the body temperature hence decreasing the pace of digestion. Not only this, chilled water also solidified the fat from food in our stomach. This way our body starts storing fat. And your weight tends to increase. Drinking warm water is best for our body but yes it is very difficult to drink it all the time. At least, drink water at room temperature. If it's really hot and you can not control your craving for chilled water then in that case drink water from an earthern clay pot.
Fifth is, Do not drink water in standing position. When we drink water while standing, the water hota the food pipe with great force. As a result the gastric juices tends to come up. This is Gastroesophegeal Reflux Disease. So, whenever possible to drink water in sitting position.
Sixth & last is Drink at least 3 litres of water per day. Drinking a lot of water is very beneficial. Skin glows, no fatigue, no headache, no dehydration. You should keep you body hydrated always. If the color of your urine is dark yellow or your lips are dry, it indicates that you are dehydrated. So water, is essential and more importantly it has to be drunk right way.
