Eye care habits from worst to best. Eyes are among the very precious organ of our body. It is hard to imagine our life without an eyes. However intentionally or unintentionally we are doing this on daily basis that damage our eyes leading to blurr vision and other eyes problems. In this blog I promise you will have a clear vision as towards you should do and what you should not do to get those long lasting attractive eyes.

Let's begin talking about five worst habits that weakens the eyesight and invite other eye problems.

1. Starring at the screens. 
In the last ten years number of teenagers and young adults who use spectacles has increased four times. The reason was obvious watching computer, smart phone and TV screen. When we stare at these screens for long time without blinking our eyes the dead skin cells start accumulated near it's surface. Accumulateion of dead cells over a period of time can cause Inflammation and visual impairment. Of course many of us have job where in we have no choice but to sit in front of a computer the whole day. Well here something you can do, you can just off your seat every hour and walk a few steps and go have some water. Not it will relieve your eyes from the stress but also hydrate your body which is again very helpful for eyes.  

2. Rubbing the eyes. 
Human eye is a very delicate organ. People who have a habit of rubbing their eyes seriously damage the tiny blood vessels beneath it's surface. Moreover if your hands are not clean the germs in your fingertips get transfer onto the eyes surface causing irritation and redness. So if you feel itchy near the eyes surface gently calm it down.

3. Reading while travelling.
Reading or writing while travelling is not recommended in the way that your eyes will under constant strain to read because the text you are trying to read is moving or vibrating thus making it difficult to focus your eyes on text. Now these have been replaced by smart phones. Focusing on reading the tiny letters on your phone hurts your eyes which will result in blurr vision in the long runs. So avoid unnecessary chating or even reading a book when you are traveling a bumpy roads.

4. Not wearing Sunglasses. 
Sunglasses were not design just as a fashion accessories but to prevent bright sunlight and high end visible light damaging or discomforting the eyes. Long exposure to the sun UV rays leads to sun burn in cornea and premature ageing of eyes and even a cataract. So make it a habit wearing sunglasses that prevent 100% protection from UV rays. 

5. Working in Low light.
Our elders have always advice is to use table lamps while studying at night. Reading and writing in low light cause undue pressure on the eye muscle making them weak over time and if you are using a smartphone or computer at night with room light off. It will ruins your vision. So make sure you always working in the proper light without straining your eye muscles. 

These were the 5 daily bad habits which affect our eyes negatively. Now let us discuss those 5 things that reverse the damage that we might have done to our eyes.

1. Food for eyes. 
If you want your eyes to live longer it is very important to include certain foods in your diet. All green leafy vegetables are very rich in Zeaxanthin and Lutein which are two most important nutrients for eyes. Carrots rich in Vitamin A and Beta Carotene should be included in the form of salad or juice. Alma or Indian Gooseberry is very high in Vitamin C which is amazing for eyes. If amla is in season make sure to eat one raw amla on a day. Apart from these Omega 3 rich foods like walnuts should be consumed daily if you want your eyes be healthy. Moong dal is also very effective in eye problems. Other than this it should be noted that excessive salt in diet also negatively affect the eyes. If you start taking care of your diet your eyes will start taking care of you. 

2. Strengthenimg your eye muscles.
We train almost all muscles of our body chest, back, biceps but what about eye muscles. You will amaze to see the results if you do only a few exercises just 3 to 5 minute a day. 
First one move your eye balls in circular motion start slowly until you get a hold of it. So it for 30 seconds. 
Secondly is to tightly close your eyes and hold it for 3 seconds and open the eyes. Third is very simple just rub your palms together and touch your eyes. The warmth of palm will relax thebeye muscles. 
Fourth is the accupressure point between the index and middle finger press it on and off for 30 seconds. 
Walking barefoot on the grass early in the morning and even looking at natural greenery soothes thebeye muscles. 
These exercises are very simple and effective but the problem is we tend to forget doing them. So it is recommended to set an alarm for a few days. 

3. Eye wash Routine.
One good habit you should inculcate for better vision is to fill your mouth full with water and then wash your eyes with fresh water. The purpose of filling the mouth with water is to expand the area of eyes so that it is washed properly. You can take your eye wash Routine to the next level by using the eye wash cups. Just add 10 drops of rose water and fill the rest cup with water. Now place the cup on your eye and move your eye balls. This is a very effective way to properly wash the eye and keep it away from any kind of vision problem or infections.

5. Regular Eye Checkup.
We all knows eyes are one of the most delegate organs ofnour body and hence need constant monitoring. So it is highly recommended to go regularly for regular Eye Checkups. One in a year is good enough. Eye checkups not just include vision screen but proper examination by an eye specialist. 

 Last but not least I want to share with you tried and tested home remedy which will be effective for all kind of eye problems. All you need is almond, fennel seeds or sauf and mishri. Take equal amount of each of the three ingredients and grind them to make a fine powder. You can easily store this mixture in a air tight glass container. Just have 1 tablespoon of this mixture and drink 1 glass of milk over it. Do it just for 3 months and you will see this remedy will do wonders forbyour eyes. Children below 13 years it is recommended it is recommended to have this mixture along with water. 

So stop damaging and stop ignoring your eyes and start taking care eyes as your eyes will speak louder than your mouth in ever way. 

There is one fun fact. Do you know that our saliva is so rich in antimicrobial properties that if it is applied on the eyes and the skin around it can correct the vision and remove the dark circles in just a matter of few weeks. The live example of this can be seen in animals who heal their deepest of wounds by just licking themselves. No matter how gross it may sound to you but that how mother nature has made us to be.
